  • Bags, Tags and Labels Workshop!  Sign up Today!

    Bags, Tags and Labels

    w/Roy Liang, November 9 & 10, 12-5pm
    Cost $125 (+ MPA membership*)

    Are you a creative person making amazing merchandise, but don't know how to package it? Do you want to save on costs by printing your own packaging, or improve your current promotional design? If so, this workshop is for you! Using basic screenprinting techniques, we will focus on the basics of printing your bags, tags and labels. Please come with a sample of your merchandise and a desire to cooperate and share ideas with your fellow classmates. This is a beginner class.

    Roy Liang has been crafting for a very long time but things turned around for him for the better after he took a silk screening course at Martha Street in 2006.

  • In Your Own Hands – Workshop This Saturday – Sign up now!

    There are still some spots available in the workshop,  In Your Own Hands with Kegan McFadden, taking place this Saturday October 5 from 2:30 – 5:30.     The cost is $50.00 (no membership required).

     

    This workshop will explore the different avenues and approaches that artists use for self-publishing.  Participants will look at personal histories and stories working towards creating a limited edition bookwork.

  • Intensive 6 week screen printing class – still a few spots left!!  Starts this Saturday!!

    We are running an intensive 6-week screenprinting class Saturdays from 2:00-6:00, starting this Saturday September 28 and running until Saturday November 2.   The class will be taught by Amanda Damsma.  The cost is $250.00 (plus Martha Street Studio membership).

    From August 6th- 30th, Martha Street Studio will be having a 10% off sale on all prints and printshop items. Since members already receive 10% off print purchases we will add an additional 5% discount to all work purchased by members, making it 15% off (excluding printshop).

  • Zines for Teens Workshop

    Zines For Teens takes participants through the full process of zinemaking from start to finish and allows students to share ideas, be creative and leave with a collection of new, handmade zines! This class will take participants through a variety of zine techniques, basic DIY silk screening and bookbinding! 

    Stephanie Poruchnyk-Butler is a printmaker, writer and zinester princess from Winnipeg. She is the creator of many local zines including Glitter Zine, Trash Divas and 2kdreams. Stephanie is a founding member of Winnipeg’s own feminist arts collective, Sappho Zine Collective, and is excited about encouraging people to make art and share their work.

     

    Registration:

    * Course registration requires a valid Martha Street Studio membership: $35 Regular $20 Student / Senior

    If a course is cancelled due to insufficient registration, a full refund will be issued.

    Registration fees will be refunded upon request (less a 20% administration fee) up to the beginning of the second class.

  • *Cancelled* INKubator Opening @ The Fringe

    Due to severe rain the exhibition opening for INKubator @ The Fringe is cancelled.  The exhibition continues Friday, Saturday & Sunday July 26-28th from 12-8pm, so please come see the wonderful work when the weather dries!  Look for us on Albert St. between McDermot and Bannatyne.
